The iPhone Tab bar can be used to simulate an iPhone style tab bar.

Key Features

An iPhone tab bar iBloc adds the following capabilities to an iRise simulation:

  • Create tab bars with between 2 and 5 tabs
  • Create a tabular interface
  • Switch between iOS6 and iOS7 easily

Before you start

  • Download the iPhone Content Kit to leverage a wide variety of graphical content in your iPhone simulations (iRise 8.12 required).
  • When building a simulation for an iPhone application, try to get your hands on an actual iPhone to get a feel for how applications work on the physical device. This will help guide the behaviors and interactions you build in your simulation.
  • If you are not familiar with designing iOS applications, do a little research before attempting to build an iPhone simulation.

Usage Tips

  • Although the width and height of this iBloc can be modified in Studio, these properties are ignored when the iBloc is rendered in the browser.
  • Switch between iOS6 and iOS7 styles using the Theme setting.
  • Use Target widget for the title of your screen - that way the tab bar label will be passed automatically to your nav bar title!

Basic Usage

  1. Drag the Tab bar iBloc to a page.
  2. Set the number and tab labels via the Tab Labels setting
  3. Select the default tab on simulation by entering it's label into the Selected Tab box
  4. Set the icons for each tab using the Icons settings
  5. Target widgets (optional)
  6. Use rules and switch views to interact with dynamic views to control the various tabs this ibloc can control
  7. Set Target widget to the text title of your page for automatic labeling to match the current tab
  8. Custom icons and backgrounds can be uploaded from the Property Set selector
