The iPhone Alert can be used to quickly and easily simulate a typical iPhone alert box.  You can customize the buttons, message and more.

Key Features

An iPhone Alert iBloc adds the following capabilities to an iRise simulation:

  • Insert and easily configure a typical iPhone alert box in your simulations.
  • Leverage two custom event triggers: On button 1 click and On button 2 click.

Before you start

  • Download the iPhone Content Kit to leverage a wide variety of graphical content in your iPhone simulations (iRise 8.12 required).
  • When building a simulation for an iPhone application, try to get your hands on an actual iPhone to get a feel for how applications work on the physical device. This will help guide the behaviors and interactions you build in your simulation.
  • If you are not familiar with designing iOS applications, do a little research before attempting to build an iPhone simulation.

Usage Tips

  • Although the width and height of these iBlocs can be modified in Studio, these properties are ignored when the iBlocs are rendered in the browser. The dimensions of the iBloc in the browser will always be the default values indicated in the "Special Properties" table on this page.
  • Standard event triggers (e.g., On click) can only be associated with the iBloc itself, and not the buttons. To create events associated with the buttons, you must use the On button 1 click and On button 2 click triggers.
  • You can insert common HTML tags to format the text in the Text Message field.

Basic Usage

  1. Drag the Alert iBloc to a page.
  2. Select the Theme - iOS6 or iOS7 - iOS7 is the default
  3. In the Properties panel, enter an alert title in the Title field.
  4. Click the down arrow in the Text Message field to reveal a text box. Enter additional details regarding the alert and click OK.
  5. Enter a text label for Button 1 in the First button label field.
  6. Enter a text label for Button 2 in the Second button label field.
  7. Indicate in the Highlight button field which button should be highlighted.
Known Limitations
  • The Title field is fixed width, so text exceeding the length of the field (~27 characters) will be clipped.
  • While text entered into the Text Message field will wrap to the next line, the number of lines is limited by the height of the iBloc. Text in excess of the available space will be clipped.
