Known Limitations
  • The appearance of the Number Formatter widget does not change in Studio. To see the effects of any changes you make to the widget's properties in Studio, launch the page in iRise Reader.
  • Currently, iBlocs will not function properly in data rows or Tile Lists; therefore, only one data value can be sent to and displayed by the widget.
  • Triggering a Set Value action on a page will clear out the values of any Number Formatter iBlocs on the page that are not specifically targeted by the Set Value iBloc.
  • For the Font Family property, only fonts that are available in iRise Studio can be selected.

Usage Tips

  • Certain attributes applied in the widget's Properties panel apply only when combined with a particular format (e.g., the Prefix attribute only applies when the Currency format is selected).
  • The Number Formatter iBloc is especially useful when combined with an Expression widget or a Set Value iBloc.
Basic Usage
  1. Drag a Number Formatter iBloc to the page.
  2. In the Properties panel, type a number in the Value field. Alternatively, send a data field to the iBloc and click the small box to the right of the Value field to choose the data field and display its value dynamically.
  3. Make a selection in the Format field to determine the format that should be applied to the value displayed on the page.
  4. Choose the number of Decimal Places that should be displayed. Any decimal places in excess of the number you choose here will be truncated for the value displayed on the page.
  5. Choose an option in the 1000's Separator field (none, comma, period or space).
  6. Choose an option in the Decimal Symbol field (period or comma).
  7. If desired, change the Prefix for values displayed when the Currency format is selected.
  8. If desired, type a value in the Suffix field (e.g., EUR or USD) to be displayed when the Currency format is selected.
  9. Format the font attributes to meet the needs of your simulation.
